Introduction
My husband Demetrius and I are off to Cyprus for a week in mid March. Our flights are courtesy of easyJet. As a thank you for me taking part in the easyJet 15 Hour Blogger Challenge, the airline offered return flights for me and a companion for any route on their network. So, we opted to fly to Cyprus from Edinburgh.
Coral Bay by Mrs Logic
Choosing our HotelI was looking for Paphos hotels with sea view rooms, offering half board with verified guest ratings of at least 80% and free or reasonably priced internet access (at least in the lobby). I set a budget for £60 per night for two guests on half board.
I started the search for hotels in Paphos area on the HotelsCombined price comparison site. I managed to whittle it down to three 4 star Coral Bay hotels (north of Paphos town). I decided to stay for 2-3 nights at each of these three hotels, as I thought it would be interesting to compare them for quality of room, food, service and value for money. I then checked for the best prices for each of the hotels on these sites:

Selected Hotels in Coral BayTheo Sunset Bay Holiday Village (3 nights)- £45 per night on hotels4uA one bedroom sea view apartment which scores an average of 86% in guest reviews. There’s free wifi in the lobby.
Crown Resorts Horizon Hotel (2 nights)- £50 a night on hotels4uA twin room with a sea view which scores an average of 88% in guest reviews. There’s free wifi in the lobby.
Capital Coast Resort & Spa (2 nights) – £67 a night on LateroomsA one bedroom suite with sea view which scores an average of 84% in guest reviews A wired internet connection or wifi costs 2 Euro per day, 5 Euro for 3 days and 10 Euro for 7 days.
Total Cost
Therefore at a total cost of £369 for the 7 nights, I came in under budget at an average of around £53 a night.
Choosing our Hire CarWe’ll pick up our supermini hire car at Paphos airport. I booked it through the car hire broker economycarhire.com for £53, as they include a 2nd driver free of charge and insurance excess as standard. I liked the fact that the supplier Avis has a 24 hour service, some suppliers were only open until 20.00 and as our flight is due in at 18.00, I didn’t want to risk paying an out-of-hours fee of up to 20 Euro plus tax if our flight is delayed. I decided to pay an additional £10.50 to cover the standard inclusions such as damage to tyres and loss of keys. Therefore the total paid was £63.50.
