Meeting of the giant tortoises from the Galapagos

Posted by Administrator "the Galapagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands scattered around the equator, 525 nautical miles (972 km/604 mi) West of continental Ecuador in the Pacific. The Gal pagos archipelago, with a population of about 40,000, is a province of Ecuador; and the Islands are all part of Ecuador's National Park System. The Islands are famous for their large number of endemic species and the studies by Charles Darwin during the voyage of the Beagle who contributed to the emergence of Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection. "

The Galapagos Islands known for its Green Green, giant turtles, and active volcanoes on the heel of the recent outbreak of Cerro Azul, casting lava approximately 10 kilometers (six miles). What might have been potentially harmful to a neighboring city and the Islands famous giant tortoises, thankfully missed both.

The Centre is free for guests and can offer the Islands baby and giant tortoises. Other exhibition includes a land iguana section and "Lonely George," a gloomy name for the last remaining Member of the species.

Or paths in the wild, on a Galapagos tour or on the Charles Darwin Research Station, cross the get up close to an active volcano or a giant turtle can be found only on the banks of this lush Ecuadorian utopia.
