Hotel California Malaga: Family run hotel close to beach with free wifi

The Hotel California in Malaga is a family run hotel which lies less than a five minute walk from Malagueta Beach. The hotel receives an average rating of 86% from verified guest reviews.  The price of a double room was £55 for room only or £60 including breakfast for one night on 22 March 2010 (research carried out on 15 December 2010 on the HotelsCombined price comparison site).

The exterior of the Hotel California Malaga

The hotel has been a family run business for 45 years, I spoke to three members of the family, they could all speak some English and were very friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby is beautiful with a stained glass window. Sitting in the lobby feels like being in someone’s living room.  The hotel offers free wifi throughout. There is parking at the hotel which costs 13 Euro per day.

There’s a sun terrace with several loungers and chairs on the roof of the Hotel California with views over to the sea.

Each of the bedrooms is individually decorated. The photo below is of a superior room at the front of the hotel with a balcony.  There is some road noise out on the balcony from the street below.

The standard room I saw was smaller, quite narrow and long and located at the side of the hotel.

In my opinion the Hotel California offers very attractive, characterful rooms at a good price, close to Malagueta Beach and a homely atmosphere. The free wifi is a bonus for guests like me who need to get online when travelling.

You can see my recommendation for cheap Malaga Hotels (under £50 a night) and search for all hotels in Malaga on the HotelsCombined price comparison site.
